Morphology

Nordsippisk favors light-to-moderate agglutination.

Each productive affix should have a stable, narrow function. Affixes may stack when the resulting meaning is sensible.

A form may be grammatically parseable even when it is semantically ridiculous.

Root invariance

Affixation does not rewrite a root.

Morpheme ordering

For nouns:

ROOT → NUMBER → DEFINITENESS → POSSESSION

Example:

mann-ar-en-s

  • mann — man/person
  • -ar — plural
  • -en — definite
  • -s — possessor
